The brands shown above are a few examples of American owned brands. The main objective of this website is to help you identify what brands you can start boycotting, so far PPD has identified over 300 products. The main challenge is to be able to communicate these products in a convenient way. The options will be presented lower in this section.

The Challenge

The Boycott Objective

The main objective of this campaign is to create sufficient commercial impact for US corporations to put pressure on Republican (Trump) Party politicians. PPD has checked many of the brand websites to see if they comment on the political situation, to date we have seen none that oppose what Trump is doing. Where possible, we have attempted to contact most of the corporations behind these brands to check whether they are openly opposing Trumps actions, and none have replied to date. This isn't surprising as corporations will prefer to present a non-political view. They have had an opportunity to comment though.

Making a Sacrifice

You may be surprised at the number of products and brands that you enjoy that are US owned. Is is difficult to change loyalties and habits. So just do your best. Check the lists and target a manageable amount, It might mean that you need to find an alternative place to Costa or Starbucks to enjoy a coffee break, you could give a local independent a try. You could cancel the streaming service you use for a while. Try out different food and drinks brands.

Join an International Community of Democracy Champions

You won't be acting alone, citizens in Canada and Europe have spontaneously started boycotting travel to the US, stopped buying Tesla's and other US branded products too. However by avoiding products from our every day lives we can add further pressure.

Boycotts vs Tariffs

Trump is currently engaging in a trade war by imposing tariffs on its allies, which creates political pressure between nation states. In the UK the government is trying to cling onto diplomacy in its dealings with Trump, which is likely to be ineffective. By boycotting US products we can create direct pressure and bypass politicians, and there isn't much retaliation Trump can take, as we have seen with Elon Musk and Tesla.
